DALI Rubicon 5 Floorstanding Speakers Rosso (Pair)

The DALI Rubicon 5 is the smallest floorstanding loudspeaker in DALI's Rubicon series, sitting above the Oberon and Opticon ranges and below the flagship Epicon line. It expands on the Rubicon 2 standmount by adding a larger cabinet that extends bass response down to 45 Hz while retaining the same hybrid tweeter module that defines the series.

Hybrid Tweeter Module

At the heart of the Rubicon 5's high-frequency performance is DALI's hybrid tweeter module, which combines a 29mm soft dome tweeter with a 17 x 45mm aluminium ribbon element. The soft dome handles the upper midrange and lower treble, while the ribbon takes over above 14 kHz to maintain wide dispersion at the highest frequencies. This dual-tweeter approach allows the combined output to reach as low as 2.5 kHz with consistent off-axis response, ensuring a broad and stable soundstage regardless of listening position.

Low-Loss Driver Technology

The 165mm wood fibre cone woofer uses DALI's proprietary driver construction with a lightweight, rigid diaphragm whose randomly uneven surface structure minimises resonance and ensures piston-like movement across its operating range. The motor system incorporates DALI's patented Soft Magnetic Compound (SMC) technology, derived from the flagship Epicon series. SMC reduces hysteresis distortion in the magnet system to extremely low levels, preserving fine detail even at low listening volumes where conventional ferrite or neodymium motors would mask subtle information.

Cabinet & Bass Loading

The Rubicon 5 employs a rear-ported bass reflex design in a 2.5-way configuration, with the woofer operating as both a dedicated bass driver and a midrange unit via the crossover network. The crossover points are set at 2,900 Hz and 14,000 Hz. The cabinet is constructed from solid MDF with a high-gloss lacquer finish, and the speaker is available in four finishes: Gloss Black, Gloss White, Rosso, and Natural Walnut.
