The FS-700 S2 is the dedicated speaker stand for the Bowers & Wilkins 700 Series S2 standmount loudspeakers. Designed in-house at Bowers & Wilkins to complement the 705 S2, 706 S2, and 707 S2, the FS-700 S2 places each speaker at the correct listening height while providing a rigid, vibration-reducing platform that allows the speaker to perform at its best.
Construction
The FS-700 S2 combines three materials chosen for their structural and acoustic properties. The top plate is solid steel, providing a dense, non-resonant mounting surface for the speaker. The upright column is extruded aluminium — lightweight yet rigid — and is hollow to allow mass loading with dry sand or lead shot, which adds mass and further damps any residual vibration. The heavy-duty MDF base provides a stable, low-centre-of-gravity foundation.
Cable Management
An integrated cable duct runs through the rear of the aluminium column, routing speaker cable from the base to the top plate out of sight. This keeps installations tidy without the need for external cable clips or channels.
Feet & Isolation
The FS-700 S2 is supplied with both rubber feet and adjustable carpet spikes. Rubber feet are intended for hard flooring (wood, tile, laminate), while the carpet spikes couple the stand firmly to carpeted floors for improved stability and bass performance. Bolt fixings are included in the box to secure compatible Bowers & Wilkins 700 Series loudspeakers directly to the top plate.
