Description

Hit Me Hard and Soft is the third studio album by Billie Eilish, following When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? (2019) and Happier Than Ever (2021). Darkroom and Interscope Records released it on 17 May 2024 under catalogue number 602465223651, with distribution by UMG Commercial Services.

The album was written by Billie Eilish O'Connell with her brother Finneas O'Connell, who also produced it. Ten tracks run across two sides, opening with Skinny and closing with Blue, and taking in Lunch, Chihiro, Birds of a Feather and Wildflower along the way.

The Recording

Finneas produced the record and wrote the string arrangements, with orchestration by David Campbell and the string parts played by the Attacca Quartet. It was mixed by Jon Castelli and Aron Forbes at The Gift Shop in Los Angeles and mastered by Dale Becker.

This Pressing

This is the standard single LP on black vinyl, issued in a gatefold sleeve with a printed inner sleeve carrying the full lyrics and credits. Lacquers were cut at The Bakery in Los Angeles by Jett Galindo and Peter Hewitt-Dutton, plating was carried out by Record Technology Incorporated, and the record was pressed by MPO in France.
