Audyssey

Audyssey

Audyssey was founded in 2002 as a spinoff from an NSF engineering research centre at the University of Southern California. The company was established by four researchers from USC: Professor Chris Kyriakakis of the Viterbi School of Engineering, Professor Tomlinson Holman of the School of Cinematic Arts, Dr Sunil Bharitkar, and Philip Hilmes. Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, Audyssey is guided by the mission to perfect listening experiences in any setting.

In 2004, Audyssey's MultEQ technology became the first of its solutions to be integrated into home theatre receivers, addressing the longstanding challenge of room acoustics in domestic listening environments. Over the following two decades, the company extended its technologies into automotive audio, professional studio applications, consumer electronics, mobile devices, and cinema systems.

Today Audyssey holds an extensive portfolio of intellectual property licensed by many of the world's leading automotive, consumer technology, and entertainment brands. The company remains privately held and is best known among home cinema enthusiasts for its room correction and sound calibration technologies.
