The Advance Paris X-CD7 is a dedicated CD player from the French manufacturer's Classic Line range. Designed in France, the X-CD7 pairs a quality disc mechanism with a Wolfson WM8761 digital-to-analogue converter to deliver detailed, musical playback from your CD collection.
Power Supply Design
Advance Paris have taken particular care with the X-CD7's power supply architecture. The power supply board is separated from the digital-to-analogue conversion card, minimising electrical interference between the two stages. Separate regulated supplies feed the CD mechanism, laser control circuitry, and DAC independently, resulting in a cleaner, more stable power flow to each circuit.
Outputs & Connectivity
The X-CD7 offers both balanced and unbalanced analogue outputs, a feature not always found at this price point. The balanced XLR connections deliver lower distortion than the unbalanced RCA outputs (<0.006% THD via XLR versus <0.01% via RCA), making them the preferred choice where your amplifier supports a balanced input. Digital outputs are provided via coaxial (RCA, 75 Ω) and optical (TOSLINK) connections, allowing the X-CD7 to serve as a dedicated transport feeding an external DAC.
Build & Design
The front panel features an acrylic glass fascia, giving the unit a clean, modern appearance. An IR remote control is included for convenient operation from your listening position. The X-CD7 supports CD, CD-R, and MP3 CD formats.
