The SVS PB-1000 Pro is SVS's entry point into the ported subwoofer range, positioned below the PB-2000 Pro and designed to deliver substantial bass extension for home cinema and music reproduction in medium to large listening rooms. The Pro designation marks a generational upgrade over the original PB-1000, with a redesigned driver, upgraded Sledge amplifier topology, and the addition of DSP control via the SVS smartphone application.
Driver
A 12-inch high-excursion driver is mounted on the front baffle. The driver employs a dual ferrite magnet motor with 13.1mm Xmax and 26.8mm Xmech excursion, a 1.5-inch diameter voice coil wound with six layers of copper, and a lightweight fibre composite cone. The substantial excursion capability and stiff motor structure allow the PB-1000 Pro to reproduce frequencies down to 17 Hz in its standard dual-port configuration.
Amplifier
Power is provided by the Sledge STA-325D, a Class D amplifier delivering 325W RMS with peak power in excess of 820W. The output stage uses fully discrete 34A 120V MOSFET devices, and the power supply is an LLC resonant switched-mode design chosen for high efficiency. A 50 MHz Analog Devices DSP handles signal processing with 56-bit filtering precision, enabling the three-band parametric equaliser and the three user presets accessible through the smartphone app.
Cabinet
The enclosure is a dual-port ported design. Twin 2.5-inch ports are tuned to deliver extended low-frequency output while keeping port noise inaudible at typical listening levels. An extra-thick MDF front baffle and rigid internal bracing minimise panel resonance, and acoustic insulation lines the interior to absorb standing waves. Foam port plugs are supplied to convert the cabinet to sealed mode when a tighter, more controlled bass response is preferred. Iso-elastomer feet decouple the cabinet from the floor.
Connectivity and Control
The rear panel carries stereo RCA inputs, stereo RCA outputs (for daisy-chaining or signal pass-through), speaker-level stereo inputs, and a 12V trigger input accepting 3V to 12V AC or DC. A USB port powers the optional wireless audio adapter. On-board controls, volume, low-pass filter frequency, phase, polarity, room gain compensation, and port tuning, are accessible via the touch-button ICI panel with LED bar display on the rear, or through the SVS smartphone application for iOS and Android via Bluetooth.
