The Pro-Ject T1 Evo BT sits within the T1 range as the wireless-ready variant, adding built-in Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD and a switchable MM phono stage to the T1 Evo’s proven mechanical platform. Where the standard T1 Evo requires a separate phono stage and wired connection, the BT model can stream directly to any Bluetooth speaker or amplifier — while retaining a bypassable phono output for those who prefer a dedicated external stage.
Construction
The plinth is CNC-machined from MDF with no plastic parts, carefully manufactured to eliminate hollow spaces and the resonances they introduce. The 8mm blasted-glass platter continues this anti-resonant philosophy — heavier and more inert than plastic or lightweight steel alternatives — and sits on a felt mat for gentle contact with the record surface.
The main bearing uses a hardened stainless steel axle running in a brass bushing, machined to a tolerance of 0.001mm. The belt-driven motor is electronically controlled for stable speed at both 33 and 45 RPM, with speed change handled electronically rather than by manually repositioning the belt.
Tonearm & Cartridge
The 8.6″ tonearm is a one-piece aluminium construction with an integrated headshell — no joints, screws, or glue points that could introduce unwanted vibration. Low-friction bearings ensure accurate tracking across the record surface. The tonearm is pre-mounted and pre-adjusted to a tracking force of 17.5 mN, so no manual setup is required out of the box.
The included Ortofon OM 10 is a Moving Magnet cartridge with an elliptical diamond stylus tip, offering a genuine hi-fi playback quality that belies the T1 Evo BT’s price point.
Bluetooth & Phono Stage
The built-in phono stage handles MM cartridge amplification and RIAA equalisation, with outputs switchable between phono (line-level RCA), and Bluetooth 5.0. The Bluetooth transmitter supports both aptX and aptX HD codecs for high-fidelity wireless streaming to compatible receivers. The phono stage is bypassable, allowing connection to a dedicated external phono stage for those seeking further analogue performance.
The included Connect it E cables are semi-symmetrical, low-capacitance phono leads designed by Pro-Ject specifically for turntable use.
