The Audiolab 9000P is the flagship power amplifier in Audiolab's 9000 series, sitting above the 9000A integrated amplifier as the dedicated power stage for separates-based systems. It is Audiolab's first standalone power amplifier since the 8300XP, launched in 2016, and is designed as the natural partner for the 9000Q preamplifier.
Amplifier Design
At the heart of the 9000P is a Class AB amplifier circuit employing current feedback (CFB) topology. CFB maintains superior linearity and thermal stability by keeping idle current independent of the temperature of the output transistors. The amplifier delivers 100W per channel into 8 ohms in stereo mode, rising to 160W per channel into 4 ohms. A rear-panel switch converts the 9000P to bridged mono operation, producing 300W into 8 ohms or 380W into 4 ohms — allowing two units to be used as monoblocks for greater output and channel separation.
Power Supply
A custom 320VA toroidal transformer feeds four 15,000µF reservoir capacitors, totalling 60,000µF of energy storage. This substantial power supply reserve ensures the 9000P can deliver stable current under demanding dynamic peaks, with a maximum output current of 15A.
Connectivity
The 9000P provides one RCA and one XLR analogue input, with a single stereo speaker output. A 12V trigger input allows automatic power-on when used with a compatible preamplifier such as the 9000Q. Input sensitivity is 1Vrms on the RCA input and 2Vrms on the XLR, with gain figures of 29dB and 23dB respectively.
