Acoustic Energy AE307² — On-Wall / LCR Loudspeaker (Single)
The AE307² is the 300 Series' versatile LCR speaker — an ultra-slim, sealed-box design that can be mounted on a wall, placed on a shelf, or positioned inside a media unit in either vertical or horizontal orientation. Whether you need a centre channel for a home cinema system, a pair of discreet on-wall speakers flanking a TV, or surround channels that disappear into the room, the AE307² handles it all while delivering a level of performance that sits firmly above the 100 Series AE105 it might otherwise be compared to.
Like every model in the new 300 Series, the AE307² is a complete ground-up redesign that shares nothing with its predecessor. The driver technology, cabinet construction, crossover, and aesthetic have all been developed from scratch using research derived from Acoustic Energy's flagship Corinium project — and the step up in quality is immediately apparent.
Corinium-Derived Drivers
The AE307² features twin 120mm mid/bass drivers using the same paper and coconut-fibre cone found across the 300 Series, developed during Acoustic Energy's Corinium research programme. This material blend offers excellent stiffness with A 29mm soft dome tweeter, also derived from the Corinium project, handles the high frequencies with open, delicate treble and wide dispersion thanks to the latest WDT waveguide.
Sealed Box with Passive Radiator
Unlike the ported AE300² and AE309², the AE307² uses a sealed cabinet with a passive radiator. This is a deliberate design choice for a speaker intended to be mounted flush against a wall — a sealed enclosure doesn't suffer from the boundary effects that can make ported speakers boomy when placed close to surfaces. The passive radiator reinforces bass output without the need for a port, ensuring controlled, tuneful low-frequency performance regardless of mounting orientation. Bass extends down to 45Hz, which is impressive for a cabinet just 125mm deep.
RSC Cabinet Construction
The 18mm constrained-layer RSC (Resonance Suppression Composite) cabinet — a sandwich of MDF and bitumen pioneered in Acoustic Energy's Reference Series — significantly reduces cabinet radiation, allowing the drivers to perform without enclosure interference. The result is pure, uncoloured sound from an enclosure that looks and feels premium at this price point. An optional angled desk stand is available for optimum positioning in home cinema setups where the speaker sits on a shelf or inside a cabinet.
Finish and Integration
Available in Walnut, 'Silk-Touch' Matte Black, or 'Silk-Touch' Matte White, each finish comes with colour-matched trims and a matching premium grille fabric for a cohesive, modern look. Screen-printed logos replace the stick-on transfers of the previous generation. The AE307² is voice-matched to the AE300², AE309², and AE320², making it the natural centre and surround channel choice for a full 300 Series home cinema system.
