The AE307² is the on-wall and LCR specialist in Acoustic Energy’s 300 Series — a complete ground-up redesign that shares nothing with the outgoing model. Positioned between the entry-level AE105 in the 100 Series and Acoustic Energy’s Reference-level offerings, the 300 Series brings technology derived from the flagship Corinium research programme into a more accessible price bracket. The AE307² is voice-matched to the AE300², AE309², and AE320², making it the natural centre channel and surround choice for a full 300 Series home cinema system.
Corinium-Derived Drivers
Twin 120mm mid/bass drivers use a paper and coconut-fibre cone developed during the Corinium programme. This composite material offers high stiffness with controlled breakup behaviour, delivering a smooth, natural midrange with the warmth and detail that are critical for dialogue reproduction. A 29mm soft dome tweeter handles the high frequencies, featuring a neodymium ring magnet, a large vent in a copper-shielded pole piece, tuned absorption material, and a contoured rear chamber — all Corinium-derived refinements. The latest WDT waveguide ensures broad, even dispersion without baffle diffraction effects.
Sealed Cabinet with Passive Radiator
Unlike the ported AE300² and AE309², the AE307² uses a sealed cabinet augmented by a passive radiator. This is a deliberate design choice for a speaker intended to be mounted flush against a wall — a sealed enclosure avoids the boundary-reinforcement issues that can make ported designs boomy when placed close to surfaces. The passive radiator reinforces bass output without requiring a port, ensuring controlled, tuneful low-frequency performance regardless of whether the speaker is mounted vertically or horizontally. Bass extends down to 45Hz, which is notable for a cabinet just 125mm deep.
RSC Cabinet Construction
The 18mm constrained-layer RSC (Resonance Suppression Composite) cabinet — a sandwich of MDF and bitumen originally developed for Acoustic Energy’s Reference Series — significantly reduces cabinet radiation compared to standard MDF or plywood enclosures. The result is pure, uncoloured sound from a cabinet that feels and looks premium at this price point. An optional angled desk stand (sold separately) allows optimum positioning when the speaker sits on a shelf or inside a media unit rather than being wall-mounted.
Versatile Mounting
The AE307² can be mounted on a wall, placed on a shelf, or positioned inside a media cabinet in either vertical or horizontal orientation. Whether used as a centre channel for a home cinema system, a pair of discreet on-wall speakers flanking a TV, or surround channels that disappear into the room, the sealed-box design ensures consistent performance in any position. Colour-matched trims and a matching premium magnetic cloth grille give the speaker a cohesive, modern appearance in all three available finishes: Walnut, Silk-Touch Matte Black, and Silk-Touch Matte White.
