The SVS PB-3000 is a ported subwoofer built around a purpose-designed 13-inch high-excursion driver and the Sledge STA-800D2 amplifier, delivering 800 watts RMS with over 2,500 watts of peak power. It extends down to 16 Hz in standard ported mode and reaches a usable low-frequency limit of 14 Hz, producing a maximum output of 132.7 dB at 30 Hz.
13-Inch High-Excursion Driver
The driver uses an aluminium vented cone with a composite fibre dustcap, combined with a flat edge-wound split-wind voice coil and a dual ferrite magnet motor assembly. A long-throw parabolic surround and injection-moulded gasket allow high excursion while maintaining pistonic motion and cone control. The motor assembly generates the current needed for deep, controlled excursion from the large-diameter cone.
Sledge STA-800D2 Amplifier
The Sledge STA-800D2 is a Class D amplifier using fully discrete MOSFETs, rated at 800 watts RMS with over 2,500 watts peak output. It incorporates a 50 MHz Analog Devices audio DSP for in-room tuning, parametric EQ and crossover management. The DSP provides a three-band parametric equaliser, variable crossover frequency, polarity control, phase adjustment and room gain compensation.
Dual Port Cabinet Design
The PB-3000 is the first SVS subwoofer to use a dual port cabinet, designed to maximise airflow and reduce port turbulence at high output levels. Foam port plugs are available, allowing conversion to sealed mode operation with a dedicated response curve: 18–260 Hz (±3 dB) in sealed mode versus 16–260 Hz (±3 dB) in standard ported mode. Each tuning mode has its own individually configured frequency response.
Bluetooth App Control
The SVS subwoofer app (iOS and Android) provides wireless control over volume, DSP functions and custom presets via Bluetooth. Three custom presets can be saved for different listening scenarios, and the app offers bi-directional feedback showing adjustments in real time on both the app and the rear panel interface. The app also supports subwoofer naming, standby mode selection and factory reset.
