Engineered for connecting source components to amplifiers, this stereo RCA interconnect delivers a clean, detailed signal path thanks to its carefully chosen materials and quasi-balanced construction.

Construction

At the heart of the Performance Audio 40 is a quasi-balanced twisted pair geometry, a technique borrowed from QED's Reference range that helps reject externally induced noise. The conductors are insulated with low density polyethylene (LDPE), chosen for its low dielectric absorption, which helps preserve fine musical detail. An aluminium/Mylar wrap provides a 100% electrostatic shield structure, completed by an OFC drain wire connected at the source end only, as indicated by directional arrows on the cable jacket.

Conductors

The cable uses 99.999% oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductors, ensuring minimal signal degradation and excellent conductivity across the audio frequency range. This high-purity copper specification reduces the micro-crystalline boundaries that can impede signal flow in lesser conductor materials.

Connectors

Each cable is terminated with QED's proprietary 6-leaf RCA plugs, featuring 24k gold plating for reliable, low-resistance contact.
