The Q Acoustics 3050C is the flagship floorstanding speaker in the 3000C series — the latest generation of Q Acoustics’ most popular loudspeaker range. Building on design principles refined through the award-winning 5000 series and Concept range, the 3000C series brings audiophile-grade engineering to an accessible price point. Within the lineup, the 3050C sits above the 3010C bookshelf, 3020C standmount, and 3030C standmount, offering the greatest bass extension and room-filling scale of the range.
C3 Continuous Curved Cone Driver Technology
At the heart of the 3050C are two 142mm bass/mid drivers featuring Q Acoustics’ C3 Continuous Curved Cone design. This driver profile combines the bass performance benefits of a traditional straight conic cone with the high and mid-range frequency control of a flared cone. The continuous curve delivers superior bass dynamics, a well-controlled frequency response, and seamless integration with the tweeter — a significant step forward from the previous-generation 3050i.
Hermetically Sealed Tweeter
The 22mm tweeter is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated from the baffle using a compliant suspension system. This floating design prevents internal pressure modulations from within the cabinet and the adjacent bass/mid drivers from reaching the tweeter diaphragm, resulting in cleaner, more detailed high-frequency reproduction across the full 42 Hz to 30 kHz frequency range.
Cabinet Engineering
The 3050C cabinet employs P2P (Point to Point) bracing — a strategic internal bracing system that supports the parts of the enclosure most prone to resonance. This targeted approach improves stereo imaging and soundstage accuracy by reducing cabinet-induced colouration. Internally, HPE (Helmholtz Pressure Equaliser) tubes disrupt the build-up of standing waves, smoothing the frequency response and reducing distortion — particularly important in a floorstanding enclosure with 41.6 litres of effective internal volume.
Design and Finish
The cabinet features a contemporary minimalist aesthetic with no visible joints or bolts. The one-piece driver trim is finished in satin nickel on the black model, complementing the smooth Satin Black cabinet finish. A magnetically attached grille is included for a clean, driver-free appearance when preferred. The speaker is supplied with spike feet, spike covers, and rear stabilisers for secure floor placement.
Amplifier Compatibility
With 90 dB sensitivity and a 6 Ohm nominal impedance (3.8 Ohm minimum), the 3050C is an easy load for most amplifiers. Q Acoustics recommend partnering with amplifiers rated between 25 and 150 watts, making the 3050C compatible with a wide range of integrated amplifiers, stereo receivers, and AV receivers.
