Pure Classic H4 Radio Cotton White and Oak

The Pure Classic H4 sits at the entry point of Pure's Classic Series, a trio of retro-styled digital radios that also includes the CD-equipped Classic C-D6 and the stereo Classic Stereo. Where the C-D6 adds a CD drive and the Stereo doubles up on drivers for wider staging, the H4 focuses on compact simplicity: one 3-inch full-range driver, 10W of power, and a footprint small enough for a bedside table or kitchen worktop.

Reception and Connectivity

The H4 receives DAB+ (174–240 MHz) and FM (87.5–108 MHz) with automatic station scanning and space for 40 presets on each band — 80 in total. For streaming from a phone or tablet, Bluetooth 5.3 supports AAC and SBC codecs. A 3.5mm AUX input and USB-A port round out the wired options, the latter accepting MP3 playback from a flash drive.

Sound

A single 3-inch full-range driver delivers 10W in a mono configuration. Pure describes the tuning as “expert-tuned powerful sound” from a compact cabinet measuring just 245 × 140 × 117 mm (W × H × D). A built-in equaliser allows tonal adjustments to suit the room and content.

Display and Controls

A 2.4-inch colour TFT display shows station information, mode, and time. The screen brightness is dimmable, making the H4 practical as a bedside radio without filling the room with light. Dedicated front-panel buttons handle source selection, Bluetooth pairing, timer, presets, and standby, alongside two rotary dials for volume and menu navigation.

Timers and Alarms

The H4 includes dual alarms, each configurable to wake with either a radio station or a ringtone, with a snooze function. A sleep timer allows the radio to turn itself off after a set period. A built-in kitchen timer — a feature Pure highlights as the H4’s signature practical touch — counts down independently of playback.

Design

The Classic Series design language is shared across all three models: smooth rounded edges and a walnut or oak timber surround on a contrasting faceplate. The H4 weighs 1.2 kg and is mains-powered via a 100–240 V adapter, so no battery option is available. It is offered in two finishes: Coffee Black with Walnut, and Cotton White with Oak.
