The QED Connect USB C(M) to A(F) is a compact adapter cable from QED’s Connect range, designed to bridge the gap between USB-C equipped source devices and traditional USB-A accessories. Sitting within QED’s entry-level Connect series, it offers a cost-effective solution without sacrificing the build quality and engineering principles that define the brand’s higher-tier cables.
Construction
At just 0.15 metres in length, this adapter is built for direct, close-proximity connections where a short, tidy link is all that is required. The cable uses 99.99% oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductors, chosen for their low resistance and reliable signal transfer characteristics. A satin black PVC jacket with a 4.0 mm outer diameter provides a balance of durability and ultra-flexibility, making it easy to manage in tight spaces behind equipment or when connected to portable devices.
Connectors
Both the USB-C male and USB-A female connectors feature 24K gold plating, which resists corrosion and oxidation over time, ensuring consistent contact quality throughout the life of the cable. The custom-moulded connector housings offer strain relief at the cable entry point, reducing the risk of conductor damage from repeated plugging and unplugging.
Performance
The cable is USB 2.0 compliant, supporting data transfer rates up to 480 Mbps. This makes it well suited for connecting DACs, streamers, printers, and other peripherals that operate over USB 2.0. It is not intended for USB 3.0 or higher-speed data applications.
Environmental Considerations
In keeping with QED’s commitment to reducing environmental impact, the Connect USB C(M) to A(F) ships in fully biodegradable, minimal packaging. The cable is designed in the United Kingdom.
