The Monitor Audio Bronze 500 6G is the flagship floorstanding speaker in the Bronze 6G series, sitting above the Bronze 200 6G as the largest and most capable model in the range. Designed for larger listening rooms, the Bronze 500 6G pairs a refined 25 mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter with two substantial 8-inch C-CAM mid/bass drivers in a 2½-way configuration, delivering powerful, room-filling sound with deep bass extension down to 32 Hz in-room.

Driver Technology

At the heart of the Bronze 500 6G is Monitor Audio’s C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium) driver technology, shared across the entire Bronze 6G series. The twin 8-inch mid/bass drivers feature updated cone geometries engineered for increased control, incorporating Damped Concentric Mode (DCM) technology for more accurate time response across the frequency range. The 25 mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter is fitted with a Uniform Dispersion (UD) Waveguide, which controls the off-axis frequency response to deliver consistent sound quality across a wide listening area.

Cabinet & Construction

Standing nearly one metre tall, the Bronze 500 6G features a rear-ported bass reflex design using Monitor Audio’s Hive II port, which is engineered to reduce turbulence and port noise for cleaner bass output. The speakers are supplied with steel outrigger feet that accept carpet spikes or rubber pads for hard floors, providing a stable, low-profile foundation. Internal wiring uses silver-plated Pureflow oxygen-free copper cabling, and the gold-plated bi-wire terminals allow for bi-wiring or bi-amping configurations. The magnetically attached grille features an audio-transparent hexagonal dispersion pattern.

Performance

With a sensitivity of 90 dB and a nominal impedance of 8 ohms (4.1 ohms minimum), the Bronze 500 6G is reasonably easy to drive and pairs well with amplifiers rated between 60 and 200 watts. The speaker is capable of producing a maximum SPL of 116 dBA per pair, making it well suited to medium and large living spaces where lower-powered alternatives may struggle to fill the room.
