DALI Oberon On-Wall Speakers White (Pair)

The DALI OBERON On-Wall sits within the Oberon series — DALI's entry-level passive speaker range, positioned below the Opticon and Rubikon lines. It is designed specifically for wall-mounted stereo and home cinema applications where a slim profile is essential, measuring just 120 mm deep. Unlike the Oberon 1 or Oberon 3, which are freestanding bookshelf designs, the On-Wall is engineered from the ground up for close-to-wall placement, with a unique downward-firing bass port system that uses the wall surface itself to extend low-frequency performance.

Driver Technology

The On-Wall is a 2-way design featuring a 5.25-inch woofer paired with a 29 mm soft dome tweeter. The woofer cone is constructed from a blend of fine-grain paper pulp reinforced with wood fibres, a material combination that delivers the stiffness-to-weight ratio needed for controlled, low-distortion output across the midrange and upper bass. The magnet system incorporates DALI's patented Soft Magnetic Compound (SMC) technology — a disc within the motor structure that reduces mechanical distortion by minimising eddy currents and hysteresis in the magnetic circuit.

The tweeter is an ultra-lightweight 29 mm soft dome, specifically developed for the Oberon series. Its low moving mass allows it to generate high sound pressure levels with minimal excursion, contributing to a more detailed and open treble.

Cabinet and Bass Port Design

The cabinet is built from high-density MDF with CNC-machined internal bracing to eliminate panel resonances. Internal damping material is applied along the sides, top and bottom of the enclosure to optimise acoustic timing and reduce standing waves.

The defining engineering feature of the On-Wall is its downward-firing bass port. Conventional rear-ported speakers suffer from boundary effects when placed close to a wall, but the On-Wall’s port fires downward, using the wall as a controlled acoustic boundary to reinforce bass output rather than create unwanted resonance. This allows the speaker to deliver a frequency response extending down to 55 Hz despite its slim 120 mm depth.

Application

With a sensitivity of 87 dB and a nominal impedance of 6 ohms, the On-Wall is compatible with amplifiers rated between 25 and 100 watts. It is equally suited to stereo music systems and multi-channel home cinema installations, where it can serve as a front, surround or side channel alongside other Oberon series models. All four finishes — Black Ash, Dark Walnut, Light Oak and White — use a vinyl wrap over the MDF cabinet.
