The 606 S2 Anniversary Edition sits at the heart of Bowers & Wilkins’ 600 Series — the seventh generation of the company’s most accessible loudspeaker range. Positioned above the smaller 607 S2 and below the floorstanding 603 S2, it pairs a 165mm Continuum™ cone bass/midrange driver with a Decoupled Double Dome tweeter in a compact two-way cabinet suited to stands or shelves. The Anniversary Edition marks 25 years of the 600 Series with upgraded crossover components and a new oak finish option.

Continuum™ Cone Technology

The 606 S2 Anniversary Edition uses the same Continuum™ cone material developed for B&W’s flagship 800 Series Diamond. Continuum replaces the woven Kevlar® cone used in earlier 600 Series generations, delivering a cleaner midrange with reduced colouration. The 165mm (6.5 in) bass/midrange driver handles the full frequency range from 52 Hz up to the 2.5 kHz crossover point.

Decoupled Double Dome Tweeter

The 25mm aluminium dome tweeter uses B&W’s Decoupled Double Dome construction, in which the dome is mechanically isolated from the motor assembly to reduce resonance-induced distortion. In the Anniversary Edition, this tweeter is refined to achieve a breakup frequency of 38 kHz — well above the audible range — keeping its output clean and controlled across the entire treble band.

Anniversary Edition Crossover

The most significant performance upgrade over the standard 606 S2 is the crossover. The Anniversary Edition uses higher-grade capacitors sourced from B&W’s 700 Series Signature models, offering improved resolution and transparency. The crossover point remains at 2.5 kHz, but the better components allow finer detail retrieval and a more cohesive transition between drivers.

Cabinet & Build

The vented-box cabinet measures 345 × 190 × 324mm (H × W × D including grille and terminals), with cabinet depth of 300mm excluding terminals. The rear-firing bass reflex port is tuned to extend low-frequency output down to 52 Hz. Available in three finishes: Matte Black, Oak with Matte White baffle, and Matte White.
